Taiko Restaurant

Contemporary Asian Cuisine

Named after ancient Japanese drums said to beat with a mythic rhythm, Taiko restaurant is chef Schilo Van Coevorden’s Asian-inspired restaurant situated within the Conservatorium hotel. A chef at the height of his creativity, Schilo is not content simply to seduce. Beauty, flavour, aroma and texture are the instruments he uses to enchant every sense. With a live Taiko player beating harmonious rhythms every evening, the explosive yet delicate Asian flavours are matched with a beautiful backdrop.

Guests can expect a variety of Asian inspired dishes from countries such as Japan, Thailand and Korea just to name a few. In combination with these dishes, Taiko offers guests the expertise of two certified Sake sommeliers. With a full range of sakes to choose from, such as the more subtle tasting floral flavours to the fuller and robust sakes, guests can have a taste which they prefer and select their ideal sake.
